Counterfeit Monkey
An island where you can remove a letter from a thing and be left with what remains. A duck becomes a duc; a monkey becomes a money.

About
Counterfeit Monkey is built on one idea taken further than seems reasonable. You carry a letter remover: point it at an object, take a letter out of its name, and the object becomes whatever the shorter word means. A crate becomes a rate. Bread becomes bead. The whole island is a puzzle box made of spelling.
It is one of the most admired parser games of the modern era, and one of the most generous — it carries an enormous amount of implementation so that the ideas you have actually work. Emily Short released it under a Creative Commons licence, which is why it can be here.
